Silvia Maresca is a multimedia journalist and producer. She currently works as a freelance video news producer for The Telegraph and MailOnline.

She is trained in producing multimedia content (video, podcast, photography, social media and online content), news and feature writing, sub-editing and fact checking, interviewing and working to tight deadlines. Furthermore, she has professional knowledge of media law as well as basic knowledge of social media management and web development. Finally, she is fluent in English and Italian, has intermediate knowledge of Spanish and French, and can use proficiently multiple Adobe software including Premiere Pro CC, After Effects, Audition, InDesign, Experience Manager CMS, Photoshop and Lightroom.

Originally from Rome, Italy, she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from City, University of London, after spending one year studying abroad at Ryerson University’s School of Journalism in Toronto, Canada.

Working her way up in the journalism and media industry, over the past years she has contributed to a range of websites and publications, such as Journalism.co.uk, Il Sole 24 Ore’s America24, Bricks Magazine, news:rewired and Her Campus. Past work experience include The Sunday Times’ STYLE, The Evening Standard Magazine, Stylist Magazine and Talk Radio. She is also the co-founder and creative director of BOOMERANG Magazine, a print and digital publication tackling stereotypes about youth culture, launched in March 2018.

From May 2015 to May 2018 she has been a reporter for the hyperlocal news site St John Street News, researching and pitching ideas for possible feature or news articles during the weekly editorial meetings as well as writing about the area of East London and the events happening around it. Finally, she has worked as a Press Officer at the International Journalism Festival 2015 and was part of the jury for the Giffoni Film Festival 2015.

In addition to her journalistic experience, she has worked an assistant photographer for the photographer Kristina Kashtanova (icreatelife.co.uk), and was invited by Canon UK to shoot from their photographer’s pit at London Fashion Weekend in Spring 2016.

Her main interests involve art and culture, EU, US and International politics, fashion and travel.
